Annual Report for FY 13/14 and 3 year retrospective on projects

2014 09 30 – ShickshinnyForward Annual Report and projects (2011-2014)

ShickshinnyForward, a 501(c)3 established under the guidance of FEMA in response to the devastating floods of 2011.  Our group has crafted and is executing a long-term recovery plan which embodies the community’s vision and mission of revitalization as well as the reduction of overall damage and impact from future flooding.

This volunteer organization is focused on both the recovery of the greater Shickshinny area and the on- going revitalization of the community.  In the spirit of this continued recovery, we share our annual report for our FY 13/14 (closed on September 30, 2014).

The foundation of our organization is strong – but we need the community’s help to join us in executing projects that benefit the entire community, increase our flood resiliency, and enable long term growth.  Without active community participation – many of the open projects in the report will never be realized simply due to lack of volunteer capacity.

We’re on a long journey – a marathon – and we have strong support, visibility, and partnership at the local, regional, and national level to aid in our recovery.  However, without the residents of Shickshinny and the surrounding areas leaning in to assist in the continued recovery, progress will be minimal.

Please get involved – 570-550-0721, info@shickshinnyforward.com, or attend our monthly executive board meetings held 3rd Monday of each month @ 630PM at the Shickshinny Borough Building, 35 W Union St, Shickshinny, PA 18655.
